Exciting and safe playground equipment!
At Mobipark, manufacturer of playground equipment, our commitment is to the safety of the children. We want the children to play free from cares and to enjoy without any risk to preventable injuries. That’s why we design and manufacture our products complying with the highest quality and safety requirements.
In addition to ISO 9001 (Quality) and ISO 14001 (Environmental management system) all our playground equipment is certified according to the Safety standard for children’s playgrounds, UNE-EN 1176:2018.
Certifying authority CERNE Auditors carries out an annual audit to certify that our processes, materials, dimensions and any other essential features are in accordance with the European regulations.
Furthermore, before leaving the production site all our products are subject to quality control where is ensured that everything is all right.
What can be potential hazards of playground equipment?
In social media channels circulate videos, funny for those who watch the video clip, less funny for the affected persons, where we can get an idea of what may happen at playground equipment. These are some of the potential hazards:
- The achieved speed on a slide exceeds the control.
- The impact area and the safety zone of a playground facility are not adequate.
- There are obstacles on the sliding section.
- Parts of the body or of the clothes may be stuck or pinched, etc.
But can these risks be avoided?
The European safety norm for playgrounds EN 1176 has been developed and introduced in consequence to serious accidents in order to prevent them happening again for the same reasons.
More than regulating the intention is to provide protection for the users while playing. If the playground equipment is designed and produced fulfilling the norm’s safety requirements, many avoidable risks are avoided.
To trust that a playground facility is safe and to prevent nasty surprises, it should be ensured that the playground equipment is certified by an accredited certifying authority.
The certificate documents that the safety requirements have been fulfilled during the manufacturing process.
Is your playground a safe place?
Do you know how many different urban slides there are?
Kids have a lot of fun while sliding.
When the children grow older, the higher and the faster are urban slides, the better.
What are the different kinds of urban slides?
Urban slides are distinguished by their type of structure. What they have in common is their installation in public spaces. They are freely accessible and that’s why they have to meet standards of quality and safety in order not to endanger the health of the users.
Classic urban slides are FREE-STANDING SLIDES with the access separately from any other structure, directly from the ground by a ladder or by stairs.
As they require low space, they can be set up in any place where’s requested a children’s playground.
Free-standing urban slides
THEMED urban slides inspire the children’s imagination.
Themed urban slides
ATTACHMENT SLIDES require more space because they’re part of a multi-activity play structure. Access is possible traversing other parts of the play structure as for example platforms, bridges or climbing nets. There are a variety of attachment slides: attachment slides of different heights, open slides or tunnel slides, straight slides, curved slides or helical slides.
Attachment slides as part of play structures
INCLUSIVE SLIDES foster in a natural way the interaction between children without and with disabilities.
Mobipark’s inclusive slide is low-rise and wider than a usual slide in order to allow children with reduced mobility to slide down together with somebody else, with another child or with an accompanying person. The access to the inclusive slide is given via a transition platform where wheelchair users may transfer from their wheelchair to the play structure. The transition platform is equipped with diverse handles and protection bars in order to facilitate a lot of possibilities to hold on.
Inclusive slide Mobipark
URBAN EMBANKMENT SLIDES are installed regardless of free-standing stairs or a multi-activity play structure directly on a hill or an embankment where they’re INTEGRATED IN THE SURFACE.
Urban embankment slides are on the rise. This is a positive trend because play facilities are not located any longer only at playgrounds dissociated from the community, but the play facility and thus happiness is brought to public spaces.
Urban embankment slides
Safe urban slides
It’s of great importance that urban play facilities do not present any risk for the users.
Play facilities that are integrated in urban spaces are urban elements, but they are still play facilities and, moreover, they’re freely accessible. To avert health risks and to prevent later retrofitting, or in the worst case, the closing of the integrated play facility, we would like to invite vanguard architects, engineers, urban planners and landscape designers who consider integrating play facilities in projects to count on the assistance and the knowledge of the children’s playgrounds manufacturers.
From Mobipark, we would like to offer you our support and experience. Without commitment, we’ll inform you about all special requirements for urban slides and play structure so that your project can be realised successfully.
Dog agility course: Get exercise with your dog!
If you enjoy doing sports and also love spending time with your dog, what better way than combining both passions? There are varied sport modalities with dogs which meet different interests. Running with dogs, overcome obstacles at a dog agility course, ride a dog sled… all this in perfect coordination with the animal. It’s a good way to strengthen the bond with your dog, to spend time together and to do sports outdoors.
Challenge your dog!
Canicross is the sport of cross country running with a dog, always attached to the runner. The runner wears a waist belt, the dog a specifically designed harness, and the two are joined by a bungee cord. The coordination between both is the key factor!
You can take your dog with you when you go running. If you’re both experienced in running together, you can participate in Canicross running events.
Mushing today is practised also as sport, originally it was a transport method powered by dogs. It implies the use of one or more dogs to pull a sled on snow or a rig on dry land. Whether you try carting, sled dog driving or skijoring… you’ll experience an exciting adventure!
In sheepdog trail or herding events a dog and handler team work together to move livestock around a field, through fences, etc., reproducing the real herding activities during the competition. The dog must keep the herd contained and under control and guide them effectively through the course. A challenge for the dog and the handler!
Benefits of dog agility training
Dog agility has become the most popular modality of dog sport. In a dog agility course the dog has to overcome a series of obstacles in a race for both time and accuracy. The handler directs the dog with the aid of voice, body signals or any other way, except for touching neither dog nor obstacles and with no food or toys as incentives. This requires an excellent mutual understanding!
Mobipark offers a range of equipment to create your dog agility course that adapts best to the designated zone. All the obstacles have been designed following the agility regulation’s guide lines defined by the F.C.I. (World Canine Organization).
Mobipark’s dog agility equipment is made of weather-proof and vandal-resistant materials for a long durability. Naturally, the obstacles do not pose a risk to the dogs.
JUMPS
Jumps are indispensable obstacles for any dog agility course. The dog has to pass them without touching them. With these contactless elements are trained the dog’s dexterity and strength. Different jumps are hurdle, broad jump and tire jump.
CONTACT OBSTACLES
These elements have to be crossed by the dog, training mainly his dexterity and balance. On the seesaw, the dog has to traverse the platform by seesawing with his own weight. The A-frame and the dog walk have to be traversed completely, climbing up at one side and descending the other side, without jumping off the element.
MISCELLANEOUS
Apart from jumps and contact obstacles, there are other obstacles of dog agility courses for the training of concentration and obedience. To pass the slalom the dog has to be very agile and fully concentrate as he has to zigzag without missing any port. The obedience can be improved with the table. The dog has to mount on it and stay on the table until he’s instructed to descend. Tunnel elements require obedience and courage. The dog has to cross the whole tunnel, entering at one side and leaving at the opposite side.
Even so it’s known as a dog sports competition, agility has transcended this limitation and has become a popular leisure activity. You can find a dog agility course in more and more municipalities, where you can enjoy your spare time with your dog while taking advantage of it for the training of your dog’s skills and education.
Technical education about children’s playgrounds by Mobipark at Alicante
Past Friday 4th April a technical education about children’s playgrounds was hold at Auditorium Magna of EEME Business School at Alicante. This course, realised in cooperation with certifying institute ASES XXI, trained about the practical application of safety norm for children’s playgrounds EN-1176.
This training about safety aspects of children’s playgrounds has been attended by part of Mobipark’s team, municipal staff, responsibles for public parks at municipalities, construction companies, architects and maintenance services.
The course has been hold by José María Fariñas, Director of ASES XXI, who demonstrated with the help of concrete examples the importance of complying with the general and specific requirements of the safety norm for children’s playgrounds. Mr. Fariñas explained the significance of all involved process for a correct compliance of the norm, starting with the design of the play facilities, through the correct installation, to the relevance of service and maintenance over the entire life utility of the installed play elements in order to guarantee children’s safety.
The participants could test the interactive game Musicball with funny nursery songs. It works with kinetic energy, without cables and without external power source!
It has been pointed out that since past 1st November 2018 the edition 2009 of the safety norm UNE-EN-1176 (children’s playgrounds) parts 1, 2, 3, 4, and 6 the edition 2009 of the norm UNE-EN-1177 (impact attenuating surfaces) are not valid any longer.
That’s why inspections realized posterior to this date according to edition 2009 of these norms do not possess validity. These safety norms for children’s playgrounds have been annulled and substituted by the new versions UNE-EN 1176:2018 and UNE-EN 1177:2918.
The closing discourse of the training was hold by our colleague Patricia Zahn, responsible for Mobipark product management, and focused on the question “Children’s playgrounds – inclusive and/or exclusive?” Based on the concept of INCLUSION of the International Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, she explained to the participants the differences between adapted, accessible and inclusive playground equipment.
The risks of baring children with disabilities despite well-meant intentions and concrete possibilities how to succeed in creating inclusive playgrounds have been illustrated vividly.
Playing together: new inclusive carousel
In the Declaration of the Rights of the Child it’s stated the right of any child to play, to childhood’s carefreeness and to join in leisure activities. It’s not acceptable to keep children from playing due to physical, psychic, cognitive or social difficulties, amongst others.
Therefore, Mobipark developed an inclusive carousel. This roundabout is conceived for joint playing, so that children with and without disabilities can play together.
At Mobipark, we respect the individuality and diversity of each one so that all children can play. With playgrounds that provide inclusive playground equipment we contribute to the physical, intellectual, emotional and social development of every child and facilitate in a natural way the interaction between children with different abilities.
BARRIER-FREE Carousel
Our new inclusive carousel is a barrier-free roundabout. The carousel is built in ground floor in order to permit children in wheelchairs to access easily to the carousel’s platform. The carousel disposes of a place for one wheelchair and of two benches. Spinning with this roundabout incites the children to interact one with another and creates an inclusive atmosphere for playing together.
Inclusive carousel: FUN FOR ALL
Mobipark’s carousel disposes of a large spinning platform of diameter 2 metres and can be used by up to 9 children simultaneously sitting and/or stand-up.
It’s a cooperative game where everybody gets involved.
Our inclusive carousel is made of a superior structure of stainless steel and a substructure of hot-dip galvanized steel. The platform and the seats are made of non-slip HPL (high pressure laminate, and the decorative panels are made of HDPE (high density polyethylene).
The carousel is put into effect form outside!
In order to avoid any possible pinching spots between the spinning platform and the surface around, the carousel is provided with a substructure with fix border. This guarantees the correct distance according to the requirements of the safety norm EN1176.
Let’s have fun and spin on the roundabout!
Sustainable interactive playground equipment
Why is our interactive playground equipment sustainable?
Our interactive games do not consume electricity from external power sources.
They require neither an electrical connection nor batteries for working.
The interactive playground equipment offered by Mobipark is completely energy autonomous, because the different games are all powered by KINETIC ENERGY!
What is kinetic energy?
The kinetic energy is the energy obtained by motion.
The children themselves generate with the help of their movements the energy which is necessary for the functioning of the interactive playground equipment: by turning a crank or a disc, by moving a steering wheel, by jumping on a platform or by pushing a pedal.
7 Benefits of Mobipark's interactive playground equipment
Innovation – Interactivity– Inclusion – Movement – Sustainability – Multilingualism – Entertainment
Exciting interactive games installed at schoolyards or public parks motivate the children to play outdoorsy.
All the children irrespective of their abilities can participate in the activities.
Human powered: The fact that the children generate themselves the required energy leads to more environmental awareness.
The interactive playground equipment is available in different language versions. If the games will be installed at the playground not in the native language of the children but in English, the language skills of the children are promoted.

Sustainable wooden benches
At Mobipark we are committed to quality and respectful with the environment. That’s why the pinewood and the tropical wood that we employ to produce our wooden benches is exclusively wood with PEFC certification. The PEFC certification attests that the wood is originated from ecologically responsible cultivation.
For the production of our park benches we also use WPC (wood plastic composite), a material with a great ecological benefit: both of its components the wood and the thermoplastic derive from recycling that means beside of the utilization of the recycling, less deforestation.
New generation of urban furniture: WPC Benches
The material called WPC (wood plastic composite) composed of natural fibre (wood) and thermoplastic (polymer) has a 5 times major durability than natural wood. The WPC benches do not produce splinter nor fissuring. They are resistant to insects, woodworm and termites, weather-proof and maintenance-free.
