Pirate boat “Doris” with a play area on floor level with accessibility from outside and inside and another elevated play area with platforms at different heights, including a transference platform where children with wheelchairs may transfer from their wheelchair to the play structure. Further accesses via a perforated climbing panel and a climbing ladder.

In the lower part of the boat, we can find a tube phone to communicate with the deck and activity panels with games about assignment of fish species, moveable steering wheel and wind rose for navigation and a pirates photocall. The cosy boat format, the inner space which makes possible the participation in the wheelchair and a seat platform in the ship’s bow create a meeting place that invites to socialize and to role play. The wide transfer platform in the boat’s stern is another place of retreat and get together. The middle part of the boat is the starting point of two slides. One slide of height 90cm, the other one an inclusive wide slide of height 58cm. The extra width of this slide allows children with reduced mobility to slide down together with somebody else. The upper part of the play structure with gears, rattle, bell and telescope serves as lookout.

Pirates theming with more details such as cannon, pirate flag, sabres, monkey and parrot inspire children’s imagination and creativity while playing.
